Kate Flynn is 24 years old and is a qualified Irish Nurse with over 4 years’ experience working with children from new-born up to young adults, in both hospital settings and home settings. Her experience working in various healthcare facilities has enabled her to become competent working in a fast paced, changing environment. She has learned to adapt quickly to different family dynamics and always work to the best of her ability.
Her first position working with children out of a hospital setting was in 2018 and has been a continuing on off position with the family as a Private Nanny. When she began the children were four and five years old. This role involves a lot of traveling to the UK and France with the family, as well as residing in their home when they were abroad as a unit. Her role with them included acting as a proxy parent, organising play dates, managing schoolwork and household requirements when the parents are abroad and managing the children’s day to day schedule and routines, she is currently with this family again in the South of France and they have asked her to stay until the winter season begins.
Another position Kate has worked in was from Jan 2020 – April 2020 caring for One child, 3 months old (premature born). During this position Kate worked with the parents to create a daily structure of nap times and feeding times. He role was also to spend time with the baby outside, stimulating and broadening his awareness. identifying any development stages to the parents and maintaining good communication throughout the day. As well as also taking him to play groups and centres with other children his age to develop social skills. This role sadly ended due to the COVID19 pandemic, but Kate is still very much in touch with the family and was sad to leave
In 2019 Kate also spent 3 months in a temporary role with a family with Three children, five, nine and twelve years old. Organising afterschool activities, bringing them to and from school cooking and providing All meals.
Over this past year Kate has been working as a temp nurse and a temp nanny, spending a lot of the year in the south of France including working as a nurse on yachts. She is very excited to be coming to Meribel this coming winter season, she has many friends who have previously done seasons and she cannot wait to expand her childcare experience and enjoy working and living in the mountains.
